From the Upper Werntal to the Schweinfurt Oberland

From the Upper Werntal to the Schweinfurt Oberland, and the only reservoir of Lower Franconia, the Ellertshäuser See. The bike guided tour, which is accompanied by a tour guide, covers 60 km and leads 790m uphill. It starts in Poppenhausen.

During the tour, you will hear interesting information about the river Wern, the history of the bicycle race in Hambach and the dam in Zell with comments on its construction, its function and the historic flooding of the century. Afterwards, the tour takes you to the "Schweinfurt Rhön Mountains", where their scenic
peculiarities will be further elaborated. After the lunch break at the former health resort in Reichmannshausen, the tour continues to the Ellertshäuser See.

The highlights of the tour are the history of the origins of the reservoir, and a "walk under water" to see the technical equipment. Ideal for groups of up to 20 persons. Helmets are mandatory on this 9-hour day trip!
