The wing of Balthasar

Obbach Castle was built at the end of the 17th century. Here, too, you will find Grand Master Balthasar Neumann at work. Because a few decades later the castle was expanded. The second wing of the castle was built according to plans by Neumann. Today the castle belongs to the Schäfer family. The large industrial entrepreneur Georg Schäfer was head of FAG. He had a significant influence on the industry in Schweinfurt. You can see his art collection with the world's largest collection of Carl Spitweg works in the Georg Schäfer Museum.
