Saint Salvator Church
Welcome to St. Salvator's Church in Schweinfurt! This impressive church was built in the simple baroque style from 1717-1719 and stands on the site of an older church, the Liebfrauenkirche.
Despite severe damage during World War II, St. Salvator's Church was rebuilt in its original form and today shines again in full splendor.
A special highlight of the church is the trombone angel on the roof. Friedrich Rückert, a famous poet, dedicated a poem to this angel:
"But he is not in a good mood, I saw yet at the last light, because he trumpets from the city and his hintres returns inside."
