Renaissance and summer serenade
The renaissance castle of Obereuerheim is awakened from its slumber every year. The door and gate of the enchanted castle open for the summer serenade. As is so often the case, Obereuerheim Castle was also destroyed in the Peasants' War. The new Renaissance complex was completed at the end of the 16th century. The von Heßberg family still owns the castle to this day. It can only be viewed during the summer serenade.
The adjacent church of St. Laurentius is worth a visit. You are sure to be impressed by the imposing rococo building. The church was built by the imperial architect Johann Georg Neßfell. He was in the service of Balthasar Neumann.
