The municipality of Dittelbrunn is charmingly located in the Marienbachtal in the northern district of Schweinfurt. The community was created in May 1978 as part of the regional reform by merging the places Dittelbrunn, Hambach, Holzhausen and Pfändhausen. Dittelbrunn and Hambach are known beyond their borders for cycling, and many internationally successful cyclists wore the jerseys of the local clubs. Today you can visit the cycling museum in Hambach.

Even if the villages were first mentioned in documents in the 12th to 14th centuries, it can be assumed that the entire municipality was already settled in the 8th century. Hambach, for example, impressively shows its history through nine sites from prehistory and early history, there are burial mounds from the Hallstatt period. Pfändhausen is one of the few places that was originally located in a different location than it is today. The field names "Wiesenhof, Kirchhof and Pfändhäuser Hof" still remind of the old village site, which was already in the desert in 1353.

Today Dittelbrunn presents itself as a lovable, modern and attractive community. The extensive leisure activities, the sports facilities and the indoor swimming pool of the community as well as the cycle and hiking trails also contribute to this.
