Poppenhausen
The municipality of Poppenhausen, with almost 4,400 inhabitants, is located with its districts of Hain, Kronungen, Kützberg, Maibach, Pfersdorf and Poppenhausen in the charming upper Werntal - halfway between the main center of Schweinfurt and the spa town of Bad Kissingen. Agriculture as well as local commercial, craft and service businesses shape the character of the villages. In the six parts of the community there are traditions and customs that are based in part on a 1250-year history.
The community has an attractive range of leisure activities and clubs, an active cultural scene with music bands and amateur theater groups, and a very well-developed network of hiking and cycling trails. Poppenhausen is well connected to national cycle paths such as the Wern cycle path.
