Wipfeld
Wipfeld is a small, historic wine town on the Mainschleife with a great historical townscape. Life in the "home of the tithe count" is still shaped today by the wine-growing tradition. Wipfeld is probably the most characteristic wine village in the district with various wine festivals, hedge taverns and wine bars. A good 85 hectares of vineyards are cherished and looked after in the renowned "Wipfelder Zehntgraf" location. The "Zehntgrafen-Weinweg" provides exciting insights into viticulture.
In the course of the year, numerous wine-related events attract Wipfeld. On Ascension Day, for example, the traditional vineyard hike, the promenade wine festival at the end of June and the street wine festival in mid-August around the Assumption of Mary.
Wipfeld has varied cycling and hiking trails and can be easily reached from the surrounding area via the Main bike path and the Main ferry. The well-preserved ensembles in the village center are worth seeing, Wipfeld is one of the jewels among the medieval villages in Franconia. The "historical Celtis-Rundweg" leads through the Wipfelder alleys. The Literaturhaus Wipfeld, a literature museum and cultural center of the village, is also on the way.
There are also chargeable motorhome parking spaces with supply and disposal facilities right on the Main.
