Donnersdorf
The community of Donnersdorf with its six districts lies at the foot of the Zabelstein and the romantic vineyards on the Falkenberg.
Donnersdorf, halfway between Gerolzhofen and Haßfurt, controlled the entire traffic volume on the Würzburg-Bamberg route as an early medieval royal court and later high court in the Old Kingdom.
The parish church of St. Johannes Baptistae with its alleys, the baroque town hall from 1759, the rococo way of the cross at the cemetery or the Marian column are worth seeing.
The unique and original vineyard location "Donnersdorfer Falkenberg" can be discovered on the "Falkenberger Hüttentour" wine adventure trail. Information about this special vineyard location, the vineyard houses, the interplay of forest and wine as well as information about the grape varieties await the hiker. Maintaining customs at traditional festivals, in the hedge taverns or in the wine-growing parlors is very important around the Zabelstein.
Donnersdorf combines tradition, customs and modernity: In addition to winegrowers, direct marketers and cozy inns, the modern, manufacturing and service industry in Donnersdorf plays a major role.
